Streaker

The lightweight single handed racing/sailing dinghy. Its large cockpit gives enough room for a parent and child to enjoy its racy performance and ease of handling.

Butler Boats have been building wooden Streakers now for the last eight years and has an excellent reputation for producing lightweight and fast boats.

We are now building fibreglass boats in foam reinforced plastic (FRP) and incorporate a false floor which we initially developed for the wood Streaker. All our fibreglass Streakers are  built of FRP  to add strength and stiffness, keeping weight to a minimum.

The false floor is a complete moulding which extends to the forward bulkhead, thus eliminating excess water on capsize and facilitating quicker drainage, as water is channeled to the self bailer. This is an improved safety factor especially when sailing on the sea.

Another exciting addition is the new sealed mast with the new external halliard locking system. This makes righting the boat from capsize, easier.    

We have also incorporated a new metal stock which now enables the rudder to clear the water completely, ideal when launching and recovering.

A sealed mast with outside halliard locking mechanisms means less wear and tear and is also buoyant so the boat is easier to self right.
